The American Academy of Pediatrics has advised that entities offer NRP "certification" or "verification" cards through online courses. You will then access your NRP Provider eCard in your account on the NRP 8th edition Learning Platform. Once you complete all steps, the instructor will approve your skills, and your eCard will be generated. You must register for an NRP 8th edition Instructor-led Event before attending the event. You can either register yourself for events, or an instructor or administrator can write you.

NRP Advanced covers lessons 1 through 11 of the textbook. Anyone involved in the care of a newborn should take NRP Essentials. NRP Essentials covers lessons 1 through 4 of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 8th Edition. For the 8th Edition of NRP, two different types of providers are essentials and Advanced.
